Maroubra Beach Wedding at the Horizons

Call me bias but for me, Maroubra Beach is the best beach in Sydney’s eastern suburbs! Having lived here for over ten years since I left France, Maroubra has been one of those places I was lucky enough to call ‘home’. So when Kerry and Ryan chose South Maroubra for their beach style wedding, I was excited to be part of their big day in a neighbourhood that I know so well.

Kerry and Ryan’s wedding ceremony and reception were held at the Horizons located within the South Maroubra Surf Life Saving Club at Marine Parade. Perched above the SLSC, Horizons boasts a panoramic view of Maroubra beach, as well as the Maroubra headlands. Favourite amongst avid surfers, this is a spot where the ocean shows its strength, as well as its calming effect.

The stunning bride got ready surrounded by her entourage of equally gorgeous bridesmaids with the obligatory popping of sparkling wine! While Ryan’s spent his groom preparation with his groomsmen, amongst them the littlest yet cutest of them all, Kerry and Ryan’s son, Owen!

Owen walked his mum down the aisle to meet Ryan who was nervously waiting for the arrival of Kerry. The ceremony, which was conducted at the balcony of the Horizons, was very emotive and at times, punctuated with laughter from both the bride and groom, as well as their guests.

The ceremony was followed by cocktails and delicious arrays of canapes by Horizons caterer, Top Cat Catering. While the guests were enjoying the view and the food, the bride and groom with their bridal party quickly drove to the nearby Little Bay for some wedding portraits.

The bride and groom couldn’t wait to get back to their guests and party the night away! Rightly so, a good wedding celebration was had by all!
